Data-Driven Leadership Coaching
Coaching Leaders Based on Objective Data and Feedback
The Leadership Intelligence® coaching process helps leaders ask the right questions, gain better understanding through feedback, build on strengths while addressing potential derailers, and achieve desired results. In order to do so, we begin with data that identifies where a leader stands today, versus the desired state. We use 360-degree feedback and other leadership assessments to help leaders gain greater awareness. Real data then serves as a base from which real change can take place.
Scope of Engagement
Coaching engagements vary in scope, according to the desired outcome. We provide three general levels of data-centered coaching:
- Alert: Helps leaders gain a better understanding and increased awareness. Through this process, leaders understand the impact they have on the organization. The coach facilitates interpretation of the data gathered through the assessment instrument(s), and focuses on feedback and setting development goals. This typically requires a single coaching session which is focused on understanding the data gathered.
- Elevate: This level of coaching helps leaders target a higher level of performance. Through interpretation of assessment results and subsequent conversation, leaders learn about themselves and the impact they have on the organization. Through this process, leaders understand the impact they have on the organization, and make plans to address strengths and areas for development. This typically involves several coaching sessions over four to six weeks, with specific action items carried out between sessions. The process often concludes with a three-way meeting between the coach, the person being coached, and that person's supervisor.
- Achieve: This process helps leaders achieve a measurable result or change. Through this process, leaders grow to a high level of performance. The coach acts as a personal guide, facilitating change and results achievement. The focus is on improving performance and meeting well defined goals. This process provides clearly defined targets and begins and ends with a Leadership Intelligence® 360-degree feedback to measure behavior change. This process requires multiple coaching sessions over six to twelve months, and centers on measuring effectiveness and change.
